Editing Blog at The Skate Park

So, we finally filmed our music video!!! At first because of all the minor adversity we faced throughout the filming process it seemed like we were never going to get it done. We had so much footage that we had about 4 whole minutes of solid scenes. We had to do so much improvising when we actually got to the skate park that it went against our whole storyboard. Amelia took the camera home and dumped the footage on her computer at home and sent Amina and I the file. Once we began editing yesterday, we reviewed all of our footage to make sure we wouldn't insert the wrong footage. Cropping was the next part to editing our music video, I believe some areas in the film we cropped the wrong way which is why our audio was not in line. We had major issues with trying to match the audio with the words we were actually singing. It seems as if we filmed without keeping in mind that we were lip singing the words so they'd eventually have to match the original song. We have not finished editing we do have the weekend but since we have so many clips we think we'll just cut out the parts where we lip sing.
Filming way past our schedule actually wasn't that bad. We had film to shoot and we finished editing in one day. Although we are not 100% finished, the only thing left to do is align the audio with the video. We also have to go back in and play around with the video to make sure that everything is in tact before we send it in on Monday. We do not have to go back and re-shoot which is actually really good. So that eliminated any errors we may have had of shortage of film when we actually started to edit. I cropped and input transitions in with the help of Amina. While Amelia is continuing to play around with the music. We wanted to stay as true to the original film as possible so we actually pulled off a really great film.
